The emergence of THE HDMI line is well known, Japan's Toshiba took the lead in the end of March 2006 to launch the next generation of HDDVD optical drive HD-XA1, HDMI terminal high picture quality display is a big selling point. Dell, the leader of direct sales in the personal computer industry, is also holding this consumer product cake, but also in March 2006 launched a 24-inch wide screen, WUXGA resolution 1920 x 1200, with HDCP copyright protection mechanism LCD TV, and has color difference input and D-DVI input. It is conceivable that everyone is most concerned about whether you can enjoy high-quality images when the HDDVD is connected to this high-resolution LCD TV. Of course, this must borrow HDMI-DVI converter or cable, but the result of the connection is that 1080i's program is not visible at all, must pass the remote control 'resolution switch' button to see the image. That is, it seems that only 480P or 720P resolution output can be seen, similar to such a detailproblem, for the average consumer, it seems to be heavy.

HDMI line launch is mainly depending on compatibility?

From this case, it can be seen that in order to ensure smooth communication between different manufacturers' products, HDMI compatibility testing (ComplianceTesting) is certainly an integral part of HDMI development. Compatibility testing has been published as standard, but always keep an eye out for updates to the version. USB compatibility testing has taken a decade to solve all compatibility issues, so HDMI will of course take a while to overcome this problem.

The use of HDMI interface for engineers is certainly no difficulty, but for ordinary consumers, is the need to re-educate a link, if you want to hard change the consumer's use habits, if there is no careful thinking, the cost of the price is indescribable. As a result, there is a title in the industry, UserExperienceArchitect, whose job is to do everything possible to make users escalation without pain.

InfoFrames as defined by EIA/CEA-861B are necessary for learning HDMI technology. An InfoFrame package can only carry one InfoFrame. Moreover, according to HDMI's specifications, its size is limited to 30 bytes plus one check and (CheckSum) bytes.

In some cases, the source side of HDMI will be used to AVIInfoFrame and AudioInfoFrame, while other InfoFrames as defined in EIA/CEA-861B are listed as options. To know all the details of InfoFrame, only go through CEA-861BSection6, so hdMI specifications are not a completely independent specification, there must be other literature in hand, cross-reading and reference. The EIA/CEA-861B not only defines hdMI's image format, EDID, and InfoFrame data structure, but also describes the description values and tables of the audio. This phenomenon is the same as the PCIExpress specification, must be prepared at the same time PCI and PCI-X specifications, in order to be completely able to work out.
